IKEA Havsta Units Transformed into a Stunning Green Built-In Bookshelf

Check out this IKEA Havsta project, where a change of heart about the color scheme halfway through added an unexpected twist to the journey. After sanding off the first top color and priming all six units again with a dark tones primer, the project finally started to come together with the introduction of a stunning green paint!

The next step involved joining all the base units together, followed by placing the top units back on and securing them from the inside using the brackets provided in the Havsta range. This ensured a sturdy and seamless connection between the top and bottom units at the back.

To elevate the look of the bookshelf, the insides were painted and “panelled” using wall paneling effect wallpaper before re-hanging the doors. This clever technique adds depth and character to the piece, creating a custom, high-end appearance.
