IKEA Havsta Second-Hand Makeover Hack

In this inspiring IKEA Havsta makeover project, the DIYer managed to score six units second-hand on Facebook Marketplace for an incredible £320 – a total bargain compared to the £1142 price tag for buying them new! To begin this transformation, they meticulously cleaned the units and gave them a quick sanding with 120-grit paper, creating a smooth canvas for the upcoming changes.

Experimenting with a mid-tone primer for the first time, we’re excited to see how it will impact the final look, especially since the plan is to use a mid to dark top color. The primer also helps even out the existing base colors, ensuring a flawless finish.

As the DIYer is a first-time user of tinted primer, we can’t wait to see the difference it makes! 👀 Painting the insides and potentially adding patterned paper to the glass door unit are fantastic ideas to infuse the piece with personality.
