- Pole wrap
- Brad nails
- Acrylic paint
The Makeover Process
STEP 1: Assemble the IKEA Eket Unit
Start by assembling the IKEA Eket unit in any combination that suits your space. Attach the units together.
STEP 2: Prepare the Pole Wrap
Measure and cut the pole wrap to size.
STEP 3: Create Plywood Arches
Using plywood, create four arches. Cut them out with a jigsaw and attach them to each end of the unit.
STEP 4: Attach the Pole Wrap
Apply adhesive to the pole wrap and attach it to the unit using brad nails.
STEP 5: Paint the Unit
If any part of the white unit is still visible, touch it up with a suitable shade of acrylic paint.
STEP 6: Prepare the Plywood Top
Curve the edges of a plywood top using a jigsaw.
STEP 7: Stain the Pole Wrap and Top
Finally, stain the pole wrap and plywood top with a stain of your choice.
That’s it! You now have a functional yet stylish hallway storage unit thanks to this creative IKEA hack by @crack_the_shutters. This project is a perfect example of how you can take a simple piece of furniture and turn it into something truly unique.
